High school senior portraits are not anything new. In fact, it's an American tradition that has been around since World War II. These timeless photos that are taken during your sinior year of high school capture you on the brink of adulthood and getting ready to enter college or an exciting career. And, hey... they could be the last images that you will have as a carefree, stress-free individual... i.e.. Mom and Dad still pay the bulk of the bills)!
Here are a few tips when preparing for your professional photography whether you use me :) (or not :( ...
1) Bring lots of outfits
Your photographer will tell you how many "changes" you will be allowed during your session. Don't just bring your favorite hues, bring some color. Don't forget to match the shoes and bottoms to the tops. You never know if that full length pic they shot will be your favorite! Your photographer should have experience with wardrobe and can guide you. And don't forget accessories (earrings, bracelets, necklaces, belts, etc..) Make sure your clothing is wrinkle free and hung on hangers to minimize any wrinkling in your journey to the session.
2) Keep your clothing simple.
Stay away from styles that will detract from your beautiful mug! Words on your clothing and large brand names or logos also distract. Wear things that are flattering to you. Dark colors are slimming and nudes and peach tones don't work for many people.
3) Go easy on the make-up!
We want the photo to look like you! If you are concerned about that blemish that you woke up with the morning of your shoot, don't be! We photographers have a magic wand that can magically erase that little nuisance.
4) Have fun!
That's the most important tip. If you are having fun, it will show in your images. It's all about you! Bring a friend to help you and just enjoy being the star for a little while.
Senior portraits are a time to celebrate YOU! You are about to embark on a journey into adulthood (! Its not too late for Senior portraits! Book yours and you will get a variety of images and multiple styles to choose from. I can shoot on location (your choice) and it's so much fun. These images can be used for your custom announcements.
