Doctors, lawyers, corporate executives, realtors, and journalists almost always require a great headshot. Anyone in the entertainment industry has to have a killer headshot. What makes a great headshot?

A headshot must look professional and refined. There is a skill to create the proper lighting, sharp focus, and expert composition that a talented headshot photographer provides. Skills in retouching and color correction are also important. 

You have to feel comfortable with your photographer. Make sure you have previewed their portfolio and that you have seen proof that they can achieve the look and image that you wish to achieve. Also, be sure your photographer knows what you want to convey. Warmth? Style? Trustworthy business skills? Good humor? Intellect?
